1. Blog Administration
The Albertsons Library Communication Resources blog was created as an additional communication outlet from which to inform faculty about library collection development news, issues and resources in their subject area. It is meant as supplemental collection development communication process and not to replace direct contact through face to face meetings, phone calls, email, and other means.
The blog will be managed and administered by the subject liaison for Communication: Rick Stoddart.
Submissions to the library blog can be sent to Rick Stoddart for consideration. Editorial rights are retained by the blog administrator. Posts will be uploaded to the blog when feasible. Time-sensitive materials or as directed by library administration may take precedence in when posts are made available on the blog.

2. Albertsons Library Communication Resources Blog · Comments are allowed and encouraged. However, comment moderation and filtering is required. · Whenever possible include a link to relevant information. · Whenever possible, include a graphic or picture relevant to post. Note: image must not violate copyright. · Submissions to the blog can include: o News or updates regarding online databases o New resources received by the library (books, videos, microforms, etc.) o Special events at the library or connected with the library o Library closures, hours of operations, etc. that may impact services o Websites that may prove useful in research or support student endeavors o Showcase library departments that may be potentially useful to faculty or patrons (Circulation, ILL, CRC, etc.) o Advertise resources (print, online, microform) related to campus activities (Mountains Beyond Mountains) or community events o Computer related services and/or tips (wifi @thelibrary, Bronco print) o Resources related to library liaisons or subject specialty
3. Acceptable Use
Bloggers are required to check facts, spelling, and grammar. While quotes from related web sites and blogs are encouraged, bloggers are expected to cite sources.
In addition, bloggers are encouraged to accept the following as common sense:
  • Postings should reflect the library’s online persona as a research and higher education institution.
· The library blog is not a personal forum. Stick with research-based information.
  • Understand when the institution asks that topics not be discussed for confidentiality or legal compliance reasons.
  • Any blogs, posts, and comment can be deleted by the administrator (Memo), or those given administrator privileges.
4. Disclaimer Blogs sponsored by Albertsons Library are a place for patrons and faculty to share opinions about library related subjects/issues. The views expressed are those of the authors and commenters and do not necessarily represent those of Albertsons Library or Boise State University (BSU). Comments are welcome and will be reviewed prior to publishing. The following will be removed by Albertsons Library editors before being published:
  • Potentially libelous comments
  • Obscene or racist comments
  • Personal attacks, insults, or threatening language
  • Plagiarized material
  • Private, personal information published without consent
  • Comments totally unrelated to the topic of the forum
  • Commercial promotions or spam
  • Hyperlinks to material that is not directly related to the discussion
By posting a comment you agree to indemnify the Albertson Library and its officers and employees from and against all liabilities, judgments, damages, and costs (including attorney's fees) incurred by any of them which arise out of or are related to the content that you post. Forums and messaging may not be used for commercial purposes or for organized political activity. The Alberstons Library reserves the right to monitor content before it is posted on all their blogs, and to modify or remove any messages or postings that it deems, in its sole discretion, to be abusive, defamatory, in violation of the copyright, trademark right, or other intellectual property right of any third party, or otherwise inappropriate for the service. The Albertsons Library also reserves the right to edit or modify any submissions in response to requests for feedback or other commentary. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Albertsons Library is not obligated to take any such actions, and will not be responsible or liable for content posted by any subscriber in any forum, message board, or other area within the service.

Finally, we ask that you respect the library’s confidentiality and proprietary information as well as keep the discussion respectful to the library and its employees, customers, partners, and competitors.
